What the SIAC fee calculator includes

This calculator estimates the SIAC case filing fee, SIAC administration fee, and tribunal fee payable to the arbitrator or tribunal. It also lets you model Streamlined Procedure and Emergency Arbitrator upfront costs under the 2025 SIAC Rules.

How SIAC fees are calculated

SIAC fees are calculated in Singapore dollars based on the amount in dispute. The administration fee and arbitrator fee use tiered percentage bands. The arbitrator fee is payable per arbitrator, so a three-member tribunal can materially increase the estimate.

Streamlined Procedure under the 2025 SIAC Rules

Under Rule 13, Streamlined normally applies to disputes up to S$1 million unless excluded. It may also apply by agreement before tribunal constitution. This estimate uses a sole arbitrator and 50% of the administration and tribunal fee ceilings, unless the Registrar determines otherwise; the filing fee is not reduced.

Expedited Procedure is not the same as half-price arbitration

Expedited applies by agreement or approval under Rule 14, including eligible applications above S$1 million up to S$10 million and other prescribed circumstances. A sole arbitrator is appointed unless the President determines otherwise. There is no automatic half-price fee scale.

When SIAC may be useful for China-related disputes

SIAC can be attractive where the parties want a neutral Singapore seat, English-language procedure, and a well-recognized Asia-Pacific arbitral institution. For a dispute against a Chinese supplier, compare SIAC with CIETAC, ICC, and HKIAC costs, then consider contract terms, asset location, evidence, enforcement prospects, and whether a demand letter or negotiation should come first.
